Customer Reviews
Connie J, Queenstown
The 93 litre size I have is perfect for those wanting one that’s not too big, but also not small for when you’re making more pieces. I love the wifi so I can check the temp on my phone! I find that other kilns are really bulky, this one isn’t which is perfect for me as it has a smaller space that it needs to fit into. Very easy to operate, although I’m yet to fiddle around with different temp firings. I honestly I can’t think of anything negative!! All the info I received was perfect and yes definitely the kiln has met my expectations!!

I love my Olympic kiln, it's enabled me to get so creative and really experiment. I can't believe I used to have to drive half an hour for each firing at the community kiln - that's if items made it to the bottom of my driveway in one piece. Very easy to use. Although I just stick to basics, I would like to learn more of its capabilities.
Rachel C, Kingston
Pre-set options make it very easy to use. User interface of screen is super simple. The information booklet was very helpful, especially the diagnostics for various results potters may see. Jacqui at Plume also incredibly helpful with fast responses when in need. This kiln has absolutely met my expectations and its still so exciting to have my own!
Melissa M, Auckland
So many options, easy to change elements, easy to move. Insulation could be better and the external screws oxidized but this happens to most kilns I've seen. Operation is so easy and flexible. Jacqui made sure I had all the information I needed. Completely satisfied and happy with my kiln.
Linda B, Christchurch
Everything looks great, firings are very efficient, quick cooling rate, even firing temps inside the chamber. VERY easy to operate. Love your great service and advice when needed.
Kirsty G, Masterton
Takes up less space than other kilns I've had. Very easy to operate. Fires in a shorter time than my previous kiln. Perfect size for the small retail works I make, and fires evenly from top to bottom, which was an issue with my previous kiln, not an Olympic.
Natalie, Papamoa
The size is perfect for my small studio! Compact enough not to take over the space but still offers plenty of room inside for a decent load. The control panel is straightforward and very user-friendly, even if you're just starting out with firing. It's also impressively energy efficient! I haven't noticed any significant increase in my power bill.

This kiln has truly exceeded my expectations! I've been using it multiple times a week for two years with no negative issues at all. Jacqui has been incredibly helpful with all my questions and concerns. Choosing to buy from Plume Studio was the perfect decision—her customer support is amazing!
Sarah O, Blenheim
It's easy to operate. The support from Jackie has been sensational. I had an issue with the probe but Jackie sorted replacement and was very supportive in helping me get it re-installed. And also very helpful in helping me work out temperature variations once I realised kiln was firing higher than settings. Great to have my own kiln. You are not left alone and that is the best thing.
Selwyn H, Rotorua
Nice tidy construction. Very easy to operate, the kiln has met my expectations and the instruction manuals are easy to follow.

I purchased an Olympic kiln from Plume Studio for personal use at my home. I installed it outside on a covered and protected deck. This is my very first kiln ever and I find it easy to use and cost-effective to run. In my first year of owning it, I have fired it well over 30 times each time with great results. Owning my own kiln allows me to really experiment with the interplay of glazes and heat which I find fascinating. As a total newbie, I found Jacqui very helpful and supportive, giving me all the information I needed to get my learning journey started. Overall I could not be happier with the kiln and with having purchased it from Jacqui!

Easy to operate. Some cracking in the wall brick. Consistent temperature. Cheers Kelvin

Really easy to use and learn the firing schedules for a beginner. Love the easy programming as it takes all the hassle out. The information I got with the kiln prior to use was brilliant and the after-care I got from Jacqui has been amazing thank you!
Donald H, Rotorua
Very easy to use once you get a little more confidence.
Kit P, Hawarden
I like that the kiln can be separated into sections making it manageable to install, and will come in handy if need to move it in the future. It has performed well when firing. The touchscreen is fantastic, makes everything very visual and easy to navigate. I like being able to cycle through all the programs quickly, and seeing the schedule and graph is a great feature. I’m stoked to have the kiln & it can definitely do the job I need it to do.
Andrea D, Wanganui
Wonderful customer service! Jacqui goes the extra mile to be helpful and supportive. She talked me through the replacement of the kiln elements saving the electrician hours of work. Purchases have always been fast and efficient. The kiln is easy to use and cools quickly. Some screws have corroded and once removed, need to be replaced. The programmer is very simple and straightforward to use. New programes are easy to enter. I prefer front opening kilns for ease of use but that's a very personal preference.

Such a wonderful feeling to be able to fire my own and friends’ pottery on my own timeline. Simple to operate. Backup advice and help from Jacqui is always quick. I love this kiln. Its so easy to operate and that’s saying something coming from me. Jacqui has been so helpful through the whole process of purchasing the right kiln and helping to maintain it. The after sales service is second to none. One of the best investments I have made.
Katie S, Churton Park
I love my Kiln, being small it means it fills quickly with my mugs and smaller items and I don’t have to wait for weeks on end to have enough for a load. Its easy to operate and the instructions in booklet are easy to follow.

Positive aspects: The Price. Lightweight, easy to move with two people. The most amazing customer service, any trouble shooting has been made so easy. Very easy to operate, however if I didn't have your amazing service, help on the other side of a phone call, I think may have been a lot harder to get my head around. Negative aspects: The brick is very delicate and seems to break very easily, thermocouple not protected (although this is prob normal for all kilns). Thank you so much for your help Plume Studio, you go above and beyond. Your service and the price point are the number 1 reasons why I recommend this kiln to others.
Mary A, Carterton
Easy to load and programme. A great kiln for home use. Very happy with my Olympic kiln and has lived up to my expectations. One thing that would make things a little easier is the manual that comes with the controller which has temperatures in F. Maybe there's an online version available that's in C ? I've been very happy with the support I've had from Plume Studio and any issues have been quickly sorted.
Clare Y, Whangarei
I’d have to say I love my Olympic kiln. Part of the reason is because I can work from home at my own pace giving me lots of flexibility in what, how and when I fire. Also as my work is mainly sculpture the risk of breaking pieces on the way to the kiln is now almost zero. The main reasons though would have to be as a relative beginner, ease of operation, reliability and the after sales is great. In the future I’m looking forward to becoming more experimental with my work and subsequently the firing as I gain confidence.
Jennie S, Auckland
My 1414HE holds a surprising number of pieces for its size. It came with clear instructions and I've found the programs easy to use. I think I need to understand firing better to set up my own schedule. Perhaps a bit more information on DIY schedules would be helpful. Jacqui has been incredibly helpful when I've got stuck and this kiln has absolutely met my expectations!
